What is Fashion4Freedom?

Fashion4Freedom is a social enterprise that seeks to balance fashion manufacturing with social responsibility and development. We are a design house that tailors production around a mission of ethical manufacturing. We believe that fashion matters because as the apparel industry demands more cheap goods, production will continue to shift towards cheaper labor in developing countries. F4F's objective is to provide a new market place for high quality & ecologically minded fashion while fighting poverty through programs for skill development, infrastructure development, and empowerment of women and girls exploited in Vietnam. F4F is a garment industry alternative to the current production and sourcing options. We believe beautiful & well-crafted fashion can be better made with resourceful collaboration and thoughtful processes.

Fashion4Freedom is an independent fashion house founded on the basis of Fair Trade, Ethical Production, Community Development, and Social Justice for those exploited for their labor, youth, and bonded by their poverty. With our communities of craftsmen, artisans, designers, and ethical manufacturing partners we seek to change current garment production practices. We believe that one good turn deserves many. Every purchase you make contribute to the humanitarian efforts we inherited as part of our mission.

Our profit goes towards education, community rehabilitation, and skill building for those disenfranchised and under-represented.

Inspired by Accident

Fashion4Freedom grew out of a random act of kindness. "Buying a woman" and freeing her from economic slavery was what inspired LanVy Nguyen to dig deeper into the fashion supply chain and look for a better way.

Our Mission

Addressing Poverty One Thread At A Time

We seek to Educate, Rehabilitate, and provide individuals the opportunity to be free from poverty, abuse, and a chance for self-reliance and respect as artisans and entrepreneurs.

We aim to restore dignity for victims of human trafficking and through advocacy and education restore the sense of humanity among businesses and communities that are heavily impacted by exploitation. For victims we focus on Empowerment & Pragmatic Development. For fashion design houses, we provide the solution for ethical production. Together, with business communities, partnered factories, and our artistic communities of artisans & designers, we can create a more beautiful & ethical market

Saigon Laundry

Beautiful things created without a negative impact on the environment or the workforce used to create them.

Saigon Laundry

Saigon Laundry is the intersection of Asian and Western style in a ready-to-wear line that is tailored and crafted in the highest bespoke quality.

The Women's Line contains an assortment of elegant simplicity that harkens back to a classic style where sexiness was more implied than overtly stated. Our designers hand designed each piece with a strong focus on practical, wearable fashion that is exquisitely elegant.

The Men's Line also echoes a classic style while bringing a modern flair to our designs. Shirts with lined collars and cuffs, buttons hand carved from wood, jackets and pants stitched to last — all giving our ready-to-wear line an exclusive bespoke look and feel.

All of our designs start with locally-available, environmentally-sustainable materials spun into the highest quality fabrics. We work with highly-skilled craftspeople in villages in Vietnam to leverage local resources like bamboo, lychee wood, lotus, and the finest silk and turn them into fabrics and accessories that set our designs apart.

Village Sourcing

Sustainable and profitable manufacturing without the human costs.

Village Sourcing

Village Sourcing is an end-to-end fashion supply chain that not only accepts orders from small or large fashion houses; but guarantees the highest quality and ensures that each participant in the supply chain is treated and compensated fairly. We do this by turning the supply chain process around and issue RFPs for each component that goes into the construction of a given item. The tailors and craftspeople who complete our products have told us what they want to be paid to produce the items sourced through our supply chain. This ensures that we maximize the economic impact on the people who need it most.

Village Sourcing allows highly skilled craftspeople to remain in their villages rather than being pulled to the city and taken into what all too often becomes an unfair work environment. We go further than any other supply chain to ensure economic independence of our craftspeople by offering continual skill improvement education, equipment donations, and micro-loans that ensure any unforeseen economic challenge does not result in a bonded labor situation.

Village Sourcing also partners with the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry to provide opportunities for tailors who have graduated from the rigorous training that school provides. We provide immediate employment opportunities at the highest possible wages for recent graduates in exchange for their commitment to help Village Sourcing train craftspeople in villages around the country.

Freedom Fighters

Partnering with fashion houses around the globe to fight bonded labor, abusive labor practices and child labor.

Freedom Fighters

Saigon Laundry is the first fashion house that is leveraging the Village Sourcing supply chain. We are working with a number of other fashion houses to source some or all of their fashion lines through Village Sourcing. We are excited to feature these fashion houses as "Freedom Fighters" because by sourcing their lines through Village Sourcing, they are doing their part to help end bonded labor.
